Blood Bowl Challenge #5 (Medium)

Terrors of Tarantino vs. Green Spades

Summary

This Week 3 Old World Football game was a smash hit among the coaches.  Gym-Bo's Terrors were at it again.  This time they had been destroying Damek's Green Spades.  At this point of the game, The Terrors had already inflicted 9 casualties (some regenerated) to the Green Spades and were barreling towards the end-zone.  Damek, however, kept his cool and with some remarkable defensive positioning, outstanding use of rerolls, and a little luck, Damek's Pestigor was able to blitz the ball carrier causing a fumble.  On a subsequent turn, Damek's Pestigor was able to blitz off a defender, followed up to get away from another, and picked up the ball on a mad dash for the end-zone.  Gym-Bo astutely reacted by clearing a way in the scrum for his STR5 Tentacled Chaos Warrior to mark the ball carrier.  Now it's your turn.  You are heavily undermanned, you're on a break away, and you need to stall / possibly position yourself for the score.  What would you do?

Objective

  • It's your move.  You tell me.  Can you position the ball carrier so he cannot get blitzed?

Rules

  • For this challenge write down all of your moves and compare them with the actual die rolls in the game (Skip's Answer).  Remember to roll for armor breaks / injury tables if necessary.  Then you can see what would have happened if you were in Damek's shoes.
  • Remember, you still have to decide what the best move would be.  Now you have the added luxury of seeing the results if you yourself were playing the game.
  • Tentacles Reminder: The player may use this skill when an opposing player attempts to dodge or leap out of any of his tackle zones. The opposing coach rolls 2D6 adding his player’s ST and subtracting the Tentacles player’s ST from the score. If the final results is 5 or less, then the moving player is held firm, and his Action ends immediately. If a player attempts to leave the tackle zone of several players that have the Tentacles skill, only one may attempt to grab him with Tentacles.
